Jennifer LeBeau
Bio
Dr. LeBeau joins Baumgarten Law Offices PLLC as our first non-lawyer mediator, having strong ties to the Palouse and the Pacific Northwest. Born and raised on a farm located 20 minutes from Spokane, WA, and Coeur d’Alene, ID, Dr. LeBeau graduated from Freeman High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of Idaho.
In her first professional role, Dr. LeBeau worked for the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality, where she tested Northern Idaho’s beautiful lakes and rivers and contributed to Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) reports submitted to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Without knowing it at the time, this was her first exposure to mediation in a professional setting, as interactions between landowners and governmental agencies often required a high degree of collaborative communication and relationship building.
After serving in this role, Dr. LeBeau came back to the University of Idaho and served as an AmeriCorps volunteer, tutoring students with learning- and other documented disabilities in the fields of biology and chemistry. She also worked at the University of Idaho Legal Aid Clinic and Law Library, where she had served as a work-study student during her undergraduate program.
Dr. LeBeau then went on to pursue a 20+ year in higher education, helping to increase student access, engagement, success, and retention, particularly for students and families in low-income communities with high rates of trauma and violence. Throughout her career in higher education, Dr. LeBeau received formal and practical training in personnel and conflict management and performed several informal mediations. In particular, she acquired extensive experience with student-, employee-, faculty-, pre-K through postsecondary education-, and community-based conflict and disputes.
In 2025, Dr. LeBeau formalized her training and became a nationally certified mediator through the National Association of Certified Mediators (NACM). She is certified to mediate personal, family, divorce, and business disputes in all 50 states. She is also currently enrolled in a practicum program with the Volunteers of America for Western Washington and plans to become a member of the Washington and Idaho Mediation Associations upon earning the required number of mediation hours and education.
